Hey guys!
My name is Jenna and I am a hobby baker in Virginia. I got started with baking at a very young age. My grandma and I would bake brownies once a week because it was my grandpa's favorite dessert!
I was at my grandma's house every Thursday, she would come pick me up after school, we would go to Costco, and get everything to make my 3 favorite things (remember, I was little...) which was ingredients for brownies, hot pockets, a "dino" nuggets. We would make two batches of brownies every week. One set with walnuts and one without. Now, I realize that making brownies with my grandma makes me no expert in the baking world, but it definitely would spark joy and it has been a passion of mine to bake ever since then.
My mom was also a huge influence to my baking. Ever since I can remember she has always decorated her famous "Hoosier cake" with those little candy decorations from the baking aisle of Kroger. Every Christmas my mom makes peanut butter blossom cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies. My whole family comes over, we eat dinner (usually lasagna or stuffed peppers) and decorate Christmas cookies.
I had always the dream of opening a bakery. I have tried every kind of baking from cake pops, stacked cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc.. One thing I did not want to give up was the chance at a college experience. I was due to attend the Art Institute of Nashville, but when I visited the school, I knew I wanted to do all of the "college" things. I ended up casting my bakery dreams to the side and got my Bachelor's in Art at Winthrop University in South Carolina. During those 4 years I kept up with baking in my down time, and have gained a ton of knowledge.
I now bake whenever I have a spare moment here in VA. I'm Happily married to my best friend, Patrick and have the best dog, Castiel. My goal for this blog is to help me develop recipes, share my designs, and have a space where I can learn more and more about this little hobby of mine.
Enjoy! 💕
